Of my daughter I shall boast...

This past Sunday I stepped off the plane and was driven directly to Alexander Recital Hall on the Eastern Michigan University campus to hear my eldest daughter, Johannah, play her senior recital. After only seven semesters Johannah will graduate in a few weeks with a double major in Applied Music and Math. She intends to be an actuary by day, and a chamber or local symphony violist by night.

Johannah is pictured with her father (an Orthodox priest) and her grandfather (a retired Lutheran minister).

Wow, I used to think Johanna looked so much like you, and yet that picture looks so much like Julie! (But I guess my kids changed the same way.)

Congratulations!

Father bless!

Congratulations to your daughter, and to you for fathering such a young lady. I am continually impressed by you and your family, Father. I hope that one day I can visit Detroit and attend Liturgy and your parish.

Congratulations, Father Fenton. And well done, Johanna!

I'm intrigued that she will be an actuary by day. When we took those vocational aptitude tests back in high school, and actuary is what I was supposed to be when I grew up. Johanna's combination of "actuary by day, musician by night" should keep her sane and balanced. Good for her.

Nice pictures, too.

Music and knowledge are a gift from God. My congratulations to Johanna and my complements to her parents. Her skill as a musician is her joy, and a source of pride for her parents. May her achievements be an inspiration to her brothers and sisters.

Johanna, God bless you in all that you do.

Kudos to Johanna! Great to have her drop by the other day too (well, the other month), and a nice surprise. The Fenton family continues to blossom . . .
